With the start of the 2025/26 season, Salzburg celebrates a sporting first: the newly founded women’s team of FC Red Bull Salzburg will make its debut in the ADMIRAL Women’s Bundesliga. By their side: 21bitcoin, now the team’s official sponsor.

An Investment in Self-Determination

This partnership marks another important step in the professionalisation of women’s football in Austria – while also reflecting 21bitcoin’s strong commitment to female empowerment in the fields of saving and investing.

The new team emerges from the former FC Bergheim squad, which has competed in the ADMIRAL Women’s Bundesliga for years. Thanks to the partnership with FC Red Bull Salzburg, the team will now play in Austria’s top league for the first time under the name “FC Red Bull Salzburg Women.” The players will wear not only a new kit, but also a new responsibility – as sporting and social role models.

“In football as in life, it’s about making smart decisions. That’s why I think it’s great that this partnership also keeps us on the ball when it comes to finances.” – Captain Lucia Orkic

An Innovative Partner on Board

Just one year after partnering with the men’s team of the Red Bulls, 21bitcoin is now joining forces with the FC Red Bull Salzburg Women as well. The company operates one of Europe’s leading platforms for buying and securely storing Bitcoin. Increasingly, brands from the digital and financial sectors are recognising women’s football as a powerful platform with values, reach, and long-term potential. This sponsorship is a prime example of that shift and of the ongoing professionalisation of women’s football in Austria.

At the same time, 21bitcoin is launching an initiative under the title “21women – Education. Awareness. Bitcoin” to promote women’s financial independence. “Our goal is to actively encourage women to engage with topics like Bitcoin, saving, and long-term wealth building. For us, this partnership sends a clear message: saving and investing aren’t just for men,” explains CEO Daniel Winklhammer.

As part of the campaign, the Salzburg-based company will collaborate with 21 athletes, influencers, and women from business and politics to raise awareness about the importance of financial self-determination. Planned activities include talks, media outreach, podcasts, and video formats, as well as interactive workshops and webinars in cooperation with Les Femmes Orange. The aim is to provide women with practical knowledge – and to create a platform that empowers them to make independent financial decisions for the long term.
