SALZBURG, November 06, 2023 — FIOR Digital GmbH, the company behind 21bitcoin, one of Europe's leading bitcoin platforms, today announced the signing of a financing round of €2.1 million. The financing is managed by Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Bayern Mitte eG.

21bitcoin has revolutionized the way Europeans interact with bitcoin by launching a smart, simple bitcoin platform. The new investment comes in 21bitcoin's biggest growth phase so far in the three years of its existence. 21bitcoin saw extreme growth (+2.832% turnover) in the last 12 months as Europeans became increasingly interested in saving and investing in bitcoin. The company launched the 21bitcoin platform in April 2022, which allows users to securely buy, sell and hold bitcoin using a simple mobile app. The company is already profitable, showing that customers are looking for a reputable and reliable way to invest in Bitcoin over the long term despite the generally difficult market environment.

21bitcoin also offers automated bitcoin investing, saving and sending, making it one of the most user-friendly platforms in Europe.

The company will use the new capital to further expand its market position, expand its product range and expand its team. In addition, the company regulated by the Austrian Financial Market Authority aims to be the first bitcoin company with the European MiCAR license. Among other things, MiCAR harmonizes the regulatory framework for offering and advertising services in the area of cryptocurrencies and will be applied throughout the European Union from the end of 2024, which means access to the EU market with 447 million people.

The financial services industry is in the midst of massive change, and our continued growth and the involvement of an established bank as a lead investor prove that 21bitcoin is at the forefront of this change in Europe“, said Daniel Winklhammer, co-founder and CEO of 21bitcoin. ”Thousands of customers use 21bitcoin to diversify their assets into bitcoin, tell their friends about bitcoin and improve their financial lives. This investment will drive our growth so we can reach tens of thousands of more people and ensure that everyone has easy and above all, secure access to bitcoin regardless of who they are or where they are.
We invest in this company because it has the potential to revolutionize the industry and become a lasting market leader, said Andreas Streb, CEO and managing director of Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Bayern Mitte. ”21bitcoin has succeeded in winning over a generation of customers in Europe with a platform for bitcoin that is significantly different from the offerings of established providers — simpler, more human and equipped with a user experience that offers customers the desired experience.
“Involvement in 21bitcoin is the consistent development of our bitcoin strategy and complements our own offering. 21bitcoin has created a compelling range of products for bitcoin, said Richard Riedmaier, CEO of Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Bayern Mitte. ”The company has assembled an incredible team that is passionate about being the first bitcoin company to obtain a MiCAR license. We're excited to be part of their journey.
