With the advancements in artificial intelligence, phishing attacks are becoming increasingly professional and frequent. Thanks to AI, fake messages often appear more convincing than before and are frequently difficult to distinguish from legitimate communications at first glance. At the same time, scammers try to create pressure with urgent warnings or information about alleged unauthorized access or data updates to prompt you into taking quick action. In this article, you will learn which warning signs indicate a scam, how 21bitcoin actually communicates with you, and what simple rules of conduct you can follow to better protect your data and Bitcoin.
💡 This is how 21bitcoin communicates with you: You will receive support messages in the in-app chat or via email. We do not contact you by phone or SMS.
1. Never share passwords, codes, or your seed phrase
Do not share passwords, login codes, or transaction codes. Not even with someone claiming to be a support representative.
The same applies to the 12 or 24 recovery words for your own wallet, known as the seed phrase. Anyone who knows them can access your Bitcoin. Never enter them on a website to supposedly "secure" your account.
2. Do not transfer Bitcoin for "safekeeping"
A common scam involves prompting users to transfer their Bitcoin to an external address for "safekeeping," where they are supposedly secure. This is clearly and in every case an attempted scam. 21bitcoin support will never ask you to make such a transfer.
Also, do not connect a hardware wallet or confirm any transactions at the request of a supposed support representative. Do not let yourself be pressured or unsettled by claims of unauthorized account access.
3. Do not allow remote access
Are you being asked to install AnyDesk, TeamViewer, or similar software? Are you being asked to share your screen so someone can "repair" or "secure" your account?
End the contact immediately. 21bitcoin does not require remote access to your device or screen sharing. Doing so could expose sensitive data or allow others to take control of your device.
4. Do not pay for alleged profit payouts
Scammers often promise profits but demand an additional payment before the payout. Alleged "taxes" or "unlocking fees" that you are asked to send to an external wallet are major red flags for a scam.
Do not send more money just because you have already made a deposit.
5. Recognize fake SMS and check messages via the app
For example, you might receive an email or SMS informing you that:
- your account has been locked
- unauthorized access to your account has occurred
- password, code, or “API” have been changed
- a hardware wallet has been connected to your account
Such messages come from scammers and are designed to make you nervous and pressure you into acting quickly.
Do not reply to the suspicious SMS, do not click any links, and do not call any phone numbers mentioned in them. If you receive an alleged and unsolicited support call, do not speak to the scammers and end the call immediately. If you are unsure whether a message is genuine or from a scammer, open the 21bitcoin app and ask our support team directly via the in-app chat.

Pay attention to the following when receiving emails:
- Sender address: Genuine emails from 21bitcoin end with
@fior.digital. Check the full address. Even a matching address alone is not proof of authenticity, as sender information can be forged. - Anti-phishing code: For automated emails, such as purchase confirmations, compare the code with the one in your app under “Your Account → Security → Anti-Phishing Code”.
- Support messages: Check the app's support center to see if the message is displayed there as well. When in doubt, ask directly in the in-app chat.
Already clicked a link or shared data? Here is what to do
End all contact and reach out to us via the in-app chat. If you have disclosed a password, change it via the official app. If you have granted remote access, disconnect the affected device from the internet and use a trusted, different device to seek further help.
If you have already sent money or Bitcoin, notify support immediately. A refund is not guaranteed. If you are unable to log in, you can reach us via the chat in the 21bitcoin Help Center.
It is better to ask once too often than to act under pressure. You can find further examples and verification steps in the Help Center article on phishing and fraud attempts.
